CPR / AED / First Aid Regulatory Information

It’s critical for AED owners and operators to be aware of local and state regulations surrounding AED use. Regulations typically pertain to AED maintenance, AED training, and AED medical oversight.

Whether you’re purchasing an AED for the first time or you’re an experienced AED user, you can count on EMC to provide you with important information about AED compliance. There are numerous local and state laws governing AED programs. EMC supports organizations by clearing the confusion regarding widely varying AED regulations nationwide.

NJ Janet’s Law Compliance Program

Janet’s Law requires that all public and private K-12 schools in New Jersey have an automatic external defibrillator (AED) on site. Not only does the law require that every school have an AED properly installed, it also requires that schools have an emergency plan in place and staff members who have received CPR/AED training.
